The Science

The science of BioResponsive Nutrition™

Nutrition that responds to your biology. We’re connecting precision nutrition, nutritional epigenetics and Whole Person Health to translate biological insights into personalized meals and ongoing guidance.

Connected Clinical Model

Personalized interventions start with personalized insight

VAYAS360 combines advanced diagnostics, biometrics, and functional testing with precision nutrition, coaching, and monitoring so care can be matched to a person's real biology, not generic averages.

Personalized meals designed around your biology bring the science into daily life. Vayas360 is developing an approach that pairs real food with practitioner guidance, coaching and measurement over time.

Personalized care planning

BioResponsive Nutrition™

Your biology, translated into real food.

Personalized meals designed around your biology. Our approach brings together genetics, epigenetics, biomarkers, microbiome insights and real-time biometrics to understand your biology, translate those insights into real food, measure how your body responds and adapt over time.

Understand

Build a picture of your biology, health goals, lifestyle and food preferences.

Nourish

Translate those insights into personalized meals and practitioner-guided nutrition.

Measure

Track meal adherence, biomarkers, wearable trends and how you feel.

Adapt

Use follow-up information to adjust your meals and guidance over time.

Your biology isn’t static. Your nutrition shouldn’t be either.

Selected Human Research

A body of research:

Four publications. Complementary questions about nutrition, methylation and biological aging.

2021

Pilot randomized trial

Can a diet and lifestyle program shift an age-clock estimate?

Reported lower DNA methylation-derived age compared with controls.

Study details

Potential reversal of epigenetic age using a diet and lifestyle intervention: a pilot randomized clinical trial

Authors: Kara N. Fitzgerald; Romilly Hodges; Douglas Hanes; Emily Stack; David Cheishvili; Moshe Szyf; Janine Henkel; Melissa W. Twedt; Despina Giannopoulou; Josette Herdell; Sally Logan; Ryan Bradley.

Published trial · 2024 analysis correction

The corrected analysis accounts for chronological aging during the intervention. The reported treatment-versus-control difference was unchanged.

2025

Secondary dietary analysis

Which foods were associated with the response?

Polyphenol-rich foods were associated with reductions in epigenetic age.

Study details

Dietary associations with reduced epigenetic age: a secondary data analysis of the methylation diet and lifestyle study

Authors: Jamie L. Villanueva; Alexandra Adorno Vita; Heather Zwickey; Kara Fitzgerald; Romilly Hodges; Benjamin Zimmerman; Ryan Bradley.

Analysis of the original trial; an association, rather than an isolated test of ingredients.

2026

Exploratory methylation analysis

What patterns appear beyond an age-clock score?

Explored methylation signals for further investigation.

Study details

EWAS in a polyphenol dense, DNA methylation-targeted, controlled diet and lifestyle study

Authors: Kara N. Fitzgerald; Romilly Hodges; Tish Campbell; Natália Carreras-Gallo; Ryan Smith; Vanessa Vendramini; Douglas Hanes; David Cheishvili; Moshe Szyf; Ryan Bradley; Varun B. Dwaraka.

Individual locus and pathway findings did not survive multiple-comparison correction.

2023

Women’s case series

What was observed in women?

Reported age-clock reductions following a diet and lifestyle program.

Study details

Potential reversal of biological age in women following an 8-week methylation-supportive diet and lifestyle program: a case series

Authors: Kara N. Fitzgerald; Tish Campbell; Suzanne Makarem; Romilly Hodges.

Six participants; no control group.

How research informs meal development

This body of research contributes to Vayas360’s meal-development framework through insights into one-carbon metabolism, methylation-related nutrients and cofactors, polyphenol-rich foods, and dietary patterns studied in relation to DNA methylation. These insights help guide ingredient selection, nutritional composition and prospective biological-response assessment. Meal development will also draw on clinical nutrition, culinary medicine and input from scientific advisors with expertise in integrative and functional nutrition, microbiome health and whole-person care.

Nutritional Epigenetics

Where food meets gene regulation.

Epigenetics describes processes that regulate how cells use DNA’s instructions without changing the underlying DNA sequence. Nutrition, lifestyle and environmental exposures can influence these processes.

Nutritional epigenetics examines how nutrients, food compounds and dietary patterns interact with mechanisms such as DNA methylation and histone modification. Vayas360 considers these insights alongside clinical nutrition, microbiome health and individual biological data when developing personalized meals.
